The Group of Folk Song and Dance "POMORZE"
was set founded in 1979 at Youth Social and Recreation Club in Chełmno. Stanisław Nowak was its founder and a longstanding choreographer. In April 1993 the group changed the place of its activity and moved to Chełmno's Municipal Social and Recreation Club. At present Anna Fijałkowska-Wyrosławska is its artistic manager and choreographer. Thanks to work of many people connected with the dancing group, "Pomorze" has become a remarkable "label" of our town.
Apart from dance and songs, a beautiful original - like folk music is a very important element. The band of musicians directed by Sławomir Wyrosławski plays the accompaniament for the group. The band comprises pupils and graduates of the state - owned Music School in Chełmno. Jerzy Lewandowski has been the group's friend and accompanist for several years.
Every performace of The Group of Folk Song and Dance "Pomorze" is an unforgettable experience for an audience. Impetuous music, artistry of dancers and first and foremost, their youth make all "Pomorze" shows fantastic.
